3 Game Pass Titles That Will Validate Your Subscription This Weekend (Nov. 21-23)

Following the latest cost hike for Game Pass Ultimate, the initial commotion has calmed down. Although it may not be considered the absolute best deal in gaming now, the service has welcomed several big-name launch day games recently, including Ninja Gaiden 4 and The Outer Worlds 2. These additions only enhance a vast collection of numerous games ideal for weekend-long gaming binges.

Our current recommendations feature a cathartic action game, an award-winning indie masterpiece, and a essential HD-2D RPG.

Sniper Elite: Resistance

Every so often, we all require a little release. Over two decades, the Sniper Elite franchise has provided exactly that. Rebellion Developments' enduring shooter line offers players ultraviolent mayhem against enemy targets. Recently, the studio launched Sniper Elite: Resistance, a well-timed new entry to the series. While it doesn't revolutionize the formula, Resistance is a polished serving of simulation World War II sandboxes filled with Nazi objectives. The sniping is as brutal and satisfying as ever, featuring the game's signature killcam displaying each shot's effect in gory, explicit clarity. It's a violent excitement for any pacifist wanting to let off steam in the security of a digital space.

1000xResist

1000xResist presents an critically acclaimed story touching on post-pandemic existence, generational pain, and much more. It examines these subjects through a sci-fi perspective; you assume the role of Watcher, a member of multiple clones of Iris, the sole person left of a global outbreak that wiped out human life. Watcher and her fellow clones delve into Iris's recollections from when Earth was ravaged by that terrible disease, as well as memories of her education and family life, neither of which were bearable for a young person. Watcher learns Iris is not all that she seems, and the story develops from there. Should all that mystery isn't enough to hook you, the game does start with a murder. Is there a more compelling start than this?

Octopath Traveler II

Yes, finishing a gazillion-hour RPG in just nine days is a tall order, but if there's any game worth attempting the grind for, it's Octopath Traveler 2. Square Enix's visually striking masterpiece is leaving Game Pass at the end of November (as is the original game, which is also included). However, due to a holiday in the middle, at least for those in the States, it's theoretically achievable. Octopath Traveler 2 features 8 protagonists, each embodying a distinct story style. You'll find a procedural story about a cleric investigating the death of his church's head priest. A merchant striving to solve poverty through the power of commerce headlines a frontier-inspired adventure. There's even a enigma about an apothecary with memory loss (since all great RPGs need a character with an mysterious past, naturally). Some of these stories intertwine in unexpected, fascinating ways, while you progress through a stunning Industrial Revolution themed setting. And the combat is excellent — stat-focused gameplay boiled to its purest form.
