Two men have been charged related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.

This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
